About Me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have been working in the field of mental health since 2009. I have had the fortune to work in a variety of fields, but the majority of my work has been related in one way or another, to substance use. I enjoy working with clients who are looking for long term recovery and supporting their family members through the process. I am a firm believer and well-versed in medication assisted treatment including Suboxone, Naltrexone and Methadone as well. I have also trained in understanding and applying ASAM criteria in recommending treatment for addiction and in completing Substance Use Assessments for legal or professional purposes.
In the last 5 years, I have increased my training and work in more specialized issues including those of women, particularly with current societal pressures that surround women in the workplace and motherhood. I have also begun working more with LGBTQIA+ community members to support the emotional needs and stress that are associated with gender, sexuality, family relationships and finding comfort and peace in self-acceptance.
I believe everyone has a right to be loved as they are, just for existing. I encourage my clients to find balance in their life and set boundaries. I believe in the same for myself and strive to practice that in all areas of my life.
